Marin Dobson is an artist whose trademark oil paintings are infused with a luminous color quality and a focus on lyrical forms. Her paintings incorporate the bold use of color, a variety of textures, lost and found edges, control of values and strong compositions. Her work is accomplished in a painterly style that reflect both her Russian School inspired training at the Sahli School of Art and her study of technique at the Art Students League of Denver, including a year of training with Quong Ho.
Marin has won awards and national recognition for her distinctive oil paintings. Her paintings have been juried into many national and international shows including American Women Artists, Oil Painters of America, Salon International, Society of Master Impressionist Painters, and Audubon Artists of America. Marin’s work has also been selected for numerous corporate collections and has been featured in “Southwest Art Magazine”, “American Art Collector Magazine”, “The Artists Magazine”, “5280 Magazine”, and “Serenity Magazine”.
