Oil Painters of America (“OPA”) will be hosting its 31st National Exhibition at the Steamboat Art Museum in Steamboat Springs, Co from June 3rd to August 27, 2022. Our Foundation is pleased to support the mission of OPA which is dedicated to the preservation of representational art through the highest quality exhibitions and educational programming for artists and collectors. This year, the OPA National Exhibition will feature more than 200 paintings from outstanding artists from around the country. The Opening Reception for the Exhibition along with awards presentation will be held on Friday, June 3rd at the Steamboat Art Museum. Even if you cannot see the exhibition in person this summer, be sure to check out and collect works by viewing the “Gallery“ of works. Proceeds of the art sales will benefit the artists, the Museum and the OPA.
To kick-off the OPA National Exhibition, the OPA will also host its National Convention at the Steamboat Grand Hotel with activities commencing on May 31st with the popular Wet Paint Competition and concluding on Sunday, June 5th. The Convention Program will feature painting demonstrations by renowned national artists such as William T. Chambers, James Crandall, Charlie Hunter, and Johanna Harmon as well as panel discussions with other master signature artists on topics such as “The Anatomy of Great Paintings.” The line-up of speakers will also include educational presentations by best-selling author Ross King (“Monet’s Influence on American Impressionism”) and arts advocate and collector Shannon Robinson (“Patronage & the Visual Arts: A Call for an Egalitarian Renaissance of Art Collecting”).
